Suzuki Ertiga Dreza Equipped with ABS Brakes
Apart from coming with improvements and adding some of the latest technologies, the Ertiga Dreza also comes with features that had disappeared from Suzuki’s phenomenal MPV. After being removed for efficiency reasons on the New Ertiga facelift variant, now the braking system with Antilock Brake System (ABS) technology and Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) can again be found on the Dreza variant.
Suzuki’s ABS Return
The return of ABS brakes to the Ertiga is what fans of the Suzuki 7 seater MPV have been hoping for because ABS and EBD have been installed since the first generation, even though they were only available on the GX type. According to the Head of 4W Product Development PT. Suzuki Indomobil Sales, Donny Saputra, this is a feature strategy policy of his company.
Mr Donny added that other variants outside the Ertiga Dreza may also be equipped with ABS brake features if the market really wants them. Currently, SIS is said to be studying and conducting research on market demand regarding the possibility of ABS or EBD features being installed on the GA, GL, and GX variants.
ABS Brake Functionality
In general, ABS brakes prevent the tires from locking during sudden braking and allow the car to remain steerable even in slippery road conditions. This system uses sensors, servos equipped with electric motors, and computer devices. When braking occurs at a certain speed, the sensors will send information to the ABS computer which immediately responds by ordering the servo to reduce the oil pressure in the brake circuit.

The presence of ABD and EBD completes a series of other safety features on the Ertiga Dreza which consists of a side impact beam, a 3P ELR seatbelt installed at 7 points, a child-proof door lock, and of course the dual supplemental restraint system or SRS Airbags which will protect the driver and passengers next to him when a frontal collision occurred.
