Following the release of their conversion for the lower output Transporter earlier this year, world ECU remap leader Superchips has now introduced a product for the most powerful version in the range, using the 204PS BiTDI version of the 2.0 turbo-diesel engine.

Using the latest Delphi engine management, the bi-turbo diesel engine leaves the factory with 204PS but the Superchips remap adds significantly to both power and torque. Power increases by 40BHP at 3966rpm while torque – arguably more beneficial for a light commercial vehicle – grows by an even more impressive 73Nm at 4051rpm. The full power and torque curves can be seen on the website listing for the vehicle at the bottom of this page.
Examination of the torque curve reveals a broad increase across the whole RPM range, with more torque than the stock figure until over 4000rpm, creating a smoother and more refined driving experience as well as gains in fuel economy of up to 7% – a huge benefit for the light commercial fleet, providing potential cost reductions when driven in a comparable manner.
The conversion can be performed by one of Superchips’ highly skilled nationwide dealers, at an RRP of £399 including labour and VAT. The remap is covered by Superchips’ industry-leading 12-month/30,000-mile warranty.*

Given its long involvement with the marque, it’s no surprise that VW Driver magazine has frequently tested Superchips’ cars over the years. Always an interesting read, VW Driver conducts in-depth acceleration and fuel economy tests the like of which are rarely seen elsewhere amongst the motoring media these days.
Which makes it doubly pleasing that VW Driver’s test on the Superchips modified Mk6 1.6 Golf TDi is noted for its glowing praise. Tested back to back with the standard car, the Superchips modified version lopped an impressive 2 seconds from the 0-60mph time, greatly improved in-gear acceleration and returned a genuine 56mpg during the test.
And there’s never been a better time to buy a Superchips ECU remap, because at the moment this enhancement for the 1.6 TDi VW Golf is available at a special sale price of just £365.00 including VAT and installation.
