Owners and drivers of cars using the three-cylinder one-litre petrol engine in the VAG group can now enjoy increased performance, thanks to the latest addition to the portfolio of global leader Superchips.
The 60PS engine, code CHYA, is found in the Volkswagen up!, the Skoda Citigo and the SEAT Mii and is a normally-aspirated three-cylinder engine designed to power the ‘city’ cars from the three manufacturers.
The remap from Superchips adds 16bhp at 6109rpm and 17Nm at 5882rpm – very impressive figures for a non-turbocharged engine. However, the remap also helps to eliminate several flat-spots in the original engine’s power and torque curves, giving very useful additional torque at just over 2000rom for improved driveability as well as maintaining the torque curve at higher revs for better acceleration.

The conversion is carried out by one of Superchips nationwide dealer network and typically takes around an hour. Customers can either wait at the dealer or drop off their car and return later to collect.
The cost of the remap is £229 including VAT and labour. The conversion is covered by Superchips’ 12-month/30,000-mile warranty*.
